VSAT Launch

Today MICT has launched its new VSAT service from UAE hosted at Datamena (Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company) targeting Africa & Middle East, service is mainly built to provide TDMA/Internet considering different types of applications from trickle of monitoring & control data to full motion of video utilizing the latest VSAT technologies to provide a very high quality service at reasonable prices. We also aim to bundle VSAT service with our GSM Lite-Site™ where we can guarantee the required QoS for GSM transmission.

Arabsat & MICT signed a contract on Arabsat-5C

Dubai Arab Satellite Communications Organisation, Arabsat, and Morgan for Information and Communications Technology, MICT, have signed a contract whereby Arabsat will provide Morgan with Satellite capacities on its 5-C satellite with full coverage to the African continent, in addition to Arabsat’s usual coverage to the Middle East and large parts of Asia and Europe.

Khalid Bin Ahmad Balkheyour, President and CEO of Arabsat, expressed his happiness at signing the contract with Morgan, stressing Arabsat’s full support and commitment to provide the best services for them.

Kazem Zain, CEO of Morgan for Information and Communications Technology, said, “The importance of this agreement is not only in its value and financial returns, but also in the glimmer of hope it gives despite the difficulties and challenges facing the region, it’s a message that we still care and hold a lot of hope for all communities of the African continent.”

The implementation of the contract will begin with the building and operation of two ground stations in Africa this year, to be expanded in the coming years to accommodate the growing needs of the region.

Launch of MICT Afrique

A Memorandum of Association has been signed today between Kadhim Zain, the chairman of UAE-based Company MICT, and Mohammed Nour, The chairman General manager of Chad-based Company Afrique Logistics, to cooperate in providing sub-Saharan countries with excellent experience of Internet & communication services. 

Under the name MICT- Afrique which has been registered under OHADA law - a unified business law for 17 African countries, the newly born incorporation is targeting mobile operators, fixed operators, ISPs, and any other enterprises require such services. Besides MICT-Afrique is also taking into account capacity building of local employees and plans to include at least 40% of the staff from local residents and to be highly trained overseas.
